It is hard work but can be humorous teaching kids manners and hygiene

Best Videos that agree : +2   Best reasons to agree : + Kids eat things they should not eat.  Kids lick bird poop off sliding glass windows.  When you find brown stuff in their bed, and say it looks like poop, they just might tell you, "Don't worry, it doesn't taste like poop." When you ask why they tested it, they might say, "don't worry I didn't eat it, I just put my teeth on it". PS: it was, against all assurances, poop. We told her she needs to wash her hands, because she might get sick, she tells us, "I'm already sick" (she had a runny nose). Kids eat dirt. Kids eat rolly pollies (not ours, yet) Kids eat things that shouldn't be eaten, but won't eat anything you try to feed them.  It is funny seeing a little brain that has not yet learned that it is impolite to suck your toes in public... It is difficult to go out to eat with kids

Best Videos that agree : + http://youtu.be/2gNrvIQARc8    Best reasons to agree : +3 Kids love to explore new places they go to. Kids don't enjoy talking, and so they entertain them selves by messing around with stuff. Kids can't hold still very well. Best reasons to disagree : -3 When they are really young they mostly just sleep If you bring stuff for kids to play with, they are OK.  Most restaurants accommodate kids.  Score: # of reasons to agree: +3 # of reasons to disagree: -3 # of reasons to agree with reasons to agree: +0 # of reasons to agree with reasons to disagree: -0 Total Idea Score: +0

You should back up your family videos on youtube

Reasons to agree : +6 All hard drives crash unexpectedly. You can trust that YouTube will not delete  you videos. If you put you videos on YouTube grandparents and other relatives could watch them. Google search now includes personalized search, which means that potentially if any of your relatives are searching for "Yellowstone" because they want to use a video of Yellowstone in their school project, Google will tell show them your video of Yellowstone, with their grandparents in it... In other words Google has made it very easy for related people and friends to automatically find interesting stuff from each other... It might be boring now, but ever little thing your kid did when they were babies will be interesting when they have moved out. If you don't remember much from your childhood, videos can be a great way to jog your memory. If you don't put names and locations and other private information in the video, there shoul...

The National Parks are well ran and enjoyable -2

Image
Best reasons to agree : + The government has to keep people from feeding bears, to prevent bears from becoming dependent on people.  Best reasons to disagree : - There is no reason to have government owned gas stations within the park.  More buildings could be built within the state park in such a way that doesn't detract from the natural features  You could require the buildings be LEED certified, to appease the environmentalist. The could be designed so as not to interfere  with wildlife.  The government should be more  capitalistic  with our state parks, in a smart way. When I say  capitalism   you think Wal-Mart. Don't. Think Apple, Whole Food, Trader Joe, or Costco. We can  combine  the best of  capitalism  and scientific preservation of a wildlife.  Charging rich people to have a premium experience can fund wildlife preservation, and fund improvements that poor people can also experience...

Marvin Laub is tough

Image
Reasons to agree:  2 He recovered from knee and brain surgery, never complaining, and remaining cheerful and up-beat. He worked hard his whole life. Even at 79 years old he is still working, giving drivers training tests (Its not dangerous. These kids are already driving with their parents for a few months. My dad drives safe places with them, and gives them all very straight forward exams). He raised 5 kids, without ever really freaking out. You have to endure a lot of stuff to do that, and he did it with great strength. Images that agree:  2 My Dad, being tough My dad ruff-housing with his kids (I'm the baby).

Mesa Falls Idaho is worth the trip and is well managed

Image
Best reasons to agree : + It is safe to bring your kids, as long as you watch them. Its a pretty good water fall. Upper Mesa Falls is roughly 114 feet high and 200 feet wide. Our daughter really liked learning about the animals, going around and touching all the different furs... Maybe she will be a fashion designer some day? Best reasons to disagree : - They should put a zip line across the canyon and charge people to go across. They should build a safe way to talk down to the river. They are overly protective of kids picking flowers... This lady yelled at us when our 2 year old picked a wild flower. If flowers are going extentct we should use money to grow them. We should also sell them as extremely rare items, and and use the money we make to farm them. It is nice to have stuff growing in the wild but first we need to ensure their survival. If they are not endangered, and these government-types just like the feeling of power of yelling at parents for allowing ...

Rolling Stone's list of Best Albums of all time is a good one

Background, Context, and Assumptions Of course people can judge music by whatever criteria you want. How do you judge good music (don't just say you just like it!). For instance you can judge music by these criteria: How hard it is to play. For me this is not an important criteria. I guess if you play an instrument, you could enjoy a solo artist really push themselves. Craftsman ship is important. But at the end of the day, you can punch notes into a computer, and a computer could replace Eddie Van Halen's finger, but I hope it could not replace his best lyrics. Lavish craftsmanship looses most all of its appeal when not used to support an important truth. How innovative it is. Creativity is a great way to decorate music, but you have to have the substance of good music, and a good melody. I have read some great criticisms of experimental a-tonal college music.  Good songs can just be songs that capture a feeling really well, but in order for a song to...

Bad Poetry

Hot Lips Grandma White paint peels from the door, rusty hinges let loose a loud creek. A small gray mouse scurries across the floor, as cockroaches wander around the house. I dread the encounter, puckering, grandma opens her arms. Her musty smell fills my nostrils, there is no escape... grandma's livery lips strike again. Chat gpt's version "Peeling White Door" Beneath the chipping white paint of the door, Rusted hinges groan, echoing through the hall. A nimble gray mouse darts across the creaking floor, While shadows of cockroaches dance on the wall. With trepidation, I step into the embrace, As Grandma opens her arms, her eyes aglow. A scent of old books and lavender fills the space, Inescapable, yet strangely comforting though. Her lips, a vivid red, draw near with a tale, Of years gone by and love that never fails. In this moment, Grandma's affection prevails, A kiss from the past, where warmth never pales. Unnamed I don't want to die, let ...

The Google chrome book is a good buy +5

Reasons to agree :  +7 It is light It starts instantly It has a good keyboard Most all hotels have free wi-fi There is now annoying fan with moving parts that makes noise and breaks. There is now annoying hard drive with moving parts that makes noise and breaks. Kids are fun +1

Image
Best reasons to agree : +4 Kids remind you what it was like when you were a kid. Kids connect you to the future. Kids get to know what you are really like Kids give you excuses to do stupid stuff. If you didn't have kids, it might be hard to: go sledding.  go swimming. Its hard to play Marco Polo as an adult. Best reasons to disagree : -4  Throw up, crying, and whining are not fun When you go to the museums with kids, you can't take your time, because they have short attention spans.  It is hard to go back-packing in Europe with kids. It is hard to try new food with kids. All they eat is McDonald's.  Score: # of reasons to agree: +4 # of reasons to disagree: -4 # of reasons to agree with reasons to agree: +2 # of reasons to agree with reasons to disagree: -0 Total Idea Score: +4-4+2/2=1 Videos that agree: Beliefs that support this post: You should back-up family videos to YouTube...
